The Department "Biobased Resources in the Bioeconomy" (340b)

The department was founded in 2010 as "Biobased Products and Energy Crops" within the Institute of Crop Science, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. It is led by Prof. Iris Lewandowski. In 2020 it was renamed "Biobased Resources in the Bioeconomy".

Research and teaching activities encompass the interdisciplinary development, analysis and evaluation of sustainable agricultural systems and integrated biobased value creation networks.
